Though #disabilitypridemonth is only a month long, terminology and trends in language last much longer. The way we use language affects those around us — in our immediate communities and in society at large. Trends in language have the power to transform societal ideas and attitudes, so please be mindful and respectful when addressing the disabled community especially since this is a sensitive topic for many.
